As the fuel supply crisis in Ontario continues, truckers are facing a shortage of diesel fuel. The Ontario Minister of Energy has asked the Federal Minister of the Environment to allow the use of “off-road” hugh sulphur content fuel that was banned in Canada last year. Member of Parliament Dan McTeague calls it a temporary measure “in order to respond to a unique crisis”. We recall that they said that about income taxes in World War 1. Polluting high sulphur diesel is also easier and cheaper to produce: “The Nanticoke refinery, even at low capacity, can produce this grade of diesel fuel much quicker than regular truck diesel.”
This illustrates why we have to work extra hard to replace oil. When we are cold we don’,Chanel Handbags;t care that we should not chop down the neighbor’s tree for firewood. When basic services are not available (food, warmth etc.) social conventions break down. Remember the seventies, when people were siphoning each other’s fuel tanks or pulled out guns at gas stations?

A Wired Blog used a photo from my Flickr for a story on the MPAA and Pre-texting. My use of a CC-license allows them to do that, of course. It would sure be interesting to find out how they settled on that particular photo of a percussionist in a cafe in Newcastle, Australia, for a story on the MPAA and California lawmakers. It does seem to fit. Did the author do a global tag search in Flickr? Did somebody happen to notice the photo while browsing? Dave looks great in that photo. Maybe he should be in movies.

No doubt about it. The abominable House Resolution 1109 that trampled on the basic law of the land was passed by the House of Representatives because Gloria Arroyo ordered it.
Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo noticed towards midnight last Tuesday, when the voting was about to take place that administration congressmen were marching into the plenary hall.
Ocampo said those congressmen couldn’t be made to return to the Batasan at that late hour by House Speaker Prospero Nograles. “It had to be an order by Gloria Arroyo,” Ocampo said.
It has been widely reported that the order was given Thursday last week with a P20 million incentive for each vote at the presidential suite of the Manila Hotel after the Lakas-Kampi merger. One of those who were in that meeting with Arroyo shared his impression that ”she doesn’t want to step down.”
The reason why Arroyo is encouraged to violate the Constitution for her selfish ends is because the people allow it. She is a master of calibration. (Remember her pre-emptive calibrated response?).
The public’s apathy on a number of anomalies foremost among which was the Hello Garci tapes that exposed her as the mastermind of the cheating in the 2004 elections has made her confident that she can insult and trample on the people and they will just suffer in silence.
She is in for surprise. The internet is blazing with fury over the shamelessness of congressmen who passed a resolution so inane but had the effect of mangling the Constitution to allow Arroyo to stay in power beyond 2010.
Former President Estrada Estrada said the threat of Arroyo staying in power beyond 2010 is becoming very real. “Remember that since 2001,Chanel Handbags, Mrs. Arroyo has been on a consistent path of violating the Constitution. The presidency has been stolen not just once but twice. We cannot allow it to happen a third time.”

Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim message is directed to the “Officers and Men of the Armed Forces of the Philippines:”.
He said, “Last Tuesday’s brazen railroading of the Con-Ass Resolution has erased whatever doubts we have about GMA’s true intention of holding on to power beyond 2010. This is not the first time she has trampled upon the Constitution we have all sworn to follow and respect. The EDSA Dos in 2001 was a coup d’etat that we, as an organization, took part in to oust a duly elected president. The 2004 election cheating, as exposed by the ‘Hello Garci’ tapes, was partly an AFP operation masterminded by the former Chief-of-Staff,Louis Vuitton Handbags, Gen. Hermogenes Esperon. Countless other offenses have followed since.
“GMA is determined and she will keep on ramming through every perceived obstacle there is, until she attains her much-coveted goal.
“Now, only the collective will of the people with the support of the AFP can stop her.
“I, therefore, call on every officer and enlisted man to follow your conscience and do what is right – PROTECT THE PEOPLE AND THE STATE! God bless us all.”

It is not very often that a reader’s comments make a big impression on me. Yesterday I received a comment from Cecilia May van der Westhuizen on the article ‘17 Years and Still Missing‘,Wholesale scarves; and felt that I had to share it with you.
Often in life we come across situations when we feel that in hindsight we could have done something different. Sometimes we also feel so helpless when situations happen and we can’t do anything about it. Cecilia’s story is exactly a combination of these two.
She also talks about a dream she had sometime after and how it eerily ties in with some of the recent speculations.

Oh??? the memories come flooding back??? we were discussing the Gert van Rooyen saga in my office in PE today??? and memories are as vivid as they were all those years ago when I lived in Capital Park, Pretoria.
I lived up the road and round the corner from the corner cafe???. which was across the road from Gert van Rooyen???s house. Before the girls went missing.. my husband needed a woodclamp and said ???there???s a guy down the road opposite the cafe who has a huge garage filled with tools and appliances..lets ask if he can help?????? we drove down to the house and asked for the woodclamp??? and Gert van Rooyen was extremely helpful.. I must say at this point that this was long before the ???girls went missing???.
We were then invited in for a drink and had a chat??? and one thing that sticks in my mind??? which Gert pointed out to me??? was a huge black bible. Strange how certain things stick in a person???s mind.
Anyway??? a few months later my sister and family visited from Zimbabwe .. and their vehicle had a problem ???. I .. of of course said ??? There is a very friendly man down the road who we can ask for assistance cos he seems very handy?????? we went to Gert van Rooyens???s home???..and I asked whether he could assist??? this time he was not so friendly??? he asked us to wait at the back of his house while he looked for the part for the vehicle??? we heard children crying in the house and he quickly explained that they were his grandchildren who he was looking after???.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS WAS BEFORE WE KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT THE MISSING CHILDREN
??? but afterwards all the memories came back to us!!!!!!! That was the last time I saw the man. During the search for the children???. and after the news broke that Gert van Rooyen was involved and had died along with his lover??? all these memories went mad in my head??? over and over???
One night I awoke ??? after a VERY vivid dream??? and sat up in my bed??? I had explained the dream to my husband: in it I had heard a voice which said ???DONT WORRY??? THE GIRLS ARE OK??? LOOK IN THE BIG BLACK BOOK???.. I THEN SAW A HUGE LUXURY HOUSE which I ???knew??? was at the sea???. a South African coastal town???. a place with ships???. WITH HUGE GREEN LAWNS??? and I knew from my dream that the girls were there. I AM NOT CRAZY??? I get feelings which I feel throughout my mind, body and soul!!!!!
I went to the child protection unit in Pretoria and spoke to the officer in charge of the case and explained my dreams??? telling him that I was not crazy??? that I needed to explain my dreams???. just in case??? and he took down all the details???.. and that was it???.. the last I heard. I felt so helpless because my dream was so clear to me.
Long after that when I heard that they were breaking down Gert van Rooyen???s house???.. I stood by and watched and again???. felt so very helpless.
At the time we lived up the road??? my daughter was 11 yrs of age??? and she often walked to the cafe??? past Gert van Rooyens???s house??? and she was and still is a beautiful girl??? now 33yrs of age???.. and we often spoke about the possibilities???.. oh GOD?????? it could have been her!!!
I have,Chanel Handbags, and always will pray for those missing girls and their families???. and will ALWAYS stay connected to the case???. forever and ever???..
