Gucci’s I(heart) NY Bag

Remember this bag from last year? This past February Gucci handbags came out with their very own kind of replica (in this case an imitation of the State of New York’s slogan I (heart) NY. Not only did Gucci get sued for imitating the logo by the Empire State Development Company, but the kitschy design went (as an unsuccessful movie might go straight to tape) directly to replica Gucci bag.

A Happy Ending

The one success of the promotion was the huge amount of press it ended up getting. The whole idea was to launch the new Gucci store. This it did very well, despite the failed attempt to show the European fashion house’s apparent amity for America—we all know they begrudgingly pander to our taste because there’s just so many of us who buy their products. (Oh quit it, I’m only kidding!).

At any rate the state of New York eventually dropped the case realizing how good for publicity the bag was, and many New Yorkers not only shopped the Gucci boutique, but went downtown to pick up a Gucci replica handbag in everyone’s favorite new kitsch design. Happy ending!

When Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for best actress on Sunday I was so thrilled (and not only because I predicted it in my pre-Oscars article last week). What a wonderful woman, what a wonderful film the Blind Side was, and how touching that acceptance speech was! Not that I’m easily touched by the tears of a Hollywood actress in a ball gown, but seriously—this is a humble, deserving, talented and extremely down to earth woman, and when she thanked, “the moms that take care of the babies and the children no matter where they come from.” adding, “Those moms and parents never get thanked.” I just had to hand it to her…she was speaking to me in a way that your typical Oscar night diva never does. I admit I cried like a child when she thanked her own late mother, and I thought about my own two kids.

Sandra’s Comfy Chic Style

As much as I could go on about how much I love Sandra Bullock, how the film touched me, how I knew she was going to win this award, how much this year’s Oscars was a triumph for women, how lovely she looked in her Marchesa gown, (Word is her 13 year old step daughter helped her pick it out…as if I needed any more endearing news to get behind her) it wouldn’t be Replicapot if I didn’t steer my chatty self to the order of the day…looking good out in the real world!

What I love about Sandra Bullock is her motherly attitude toward fashion. Look good, look hot, but for heaven’s sake stay comfortable! While Sandra has no children of her own she has 3 step kids, from husband Jesse James’ two previous marriages.

Sandra loves black, and I just love this grey sweater dress.

If you want the Sandra Bullock look it starts with black for sure. It seems everywhere she goes she’s the gal in black. I’m absolutely in love with this look above. The tall boots, sexy but comfortable dress, matching black belt and bag, and a pair of black sunglasses to round it off.

What I Would Wear to “Bullock It Up”

I would rock this look with a black Guccissima replica Gucci handbag for sure, or to push it into a little more formal territory maybe a replica Louis Vuitton Epi leather bag. I’d like to see this same kind of style with more color, maybe even just with a red or blue replica handbag from that 2010 Louis Vuitton collection I was talking about the other day.

Another direction could be to exchange the grey and black for beige and white or cream, and team it up with some brown frame sunglasses, a beige GG canvas replica Gucci handbag (like Bullock’s character in the film perhaps, whose a little more of a pastels and light colors gal).
